Snapshots from the 37th Annual Rare Plant Auction at Longwood Gardens
The Delaware Center for Horticulture (DCH) held its 37th annual rare plant auction at Longwood Gardens on Saturday, April 29. The event featured hundreds of beautiful, rare or newly introduced plants for auction.
The evening’s third silent auction featured unique and extraordinary plant and non-plant items. The Collector’s Auction included a handpicked Brandywine Cottage collection and personal plant consultation with celebrated plant expert David Culp; an exclusive experience for four people with Dan Hinkley and partner Robert Jones that includes dinner, breakfast with a tour and an overnight stay at Windcliff, and a tour of Heronswood; and the DCH’s 2017 featured plant, the Cornus florida 'Pluribracteata,' a double-flowering dogwood.
Proceeds from the event will benefit urban green spaces.
