With roots that wind back to the 17th century, Lewes is steeped in history. Indeed, the Lewes Historical Society celebrates its 50th anniversary on Sept. 22. But Lewes also attracts outdoor enthusiasts, foodies and shopaholics. The city is so intimate that friends or families can pursue their individual interests and meet back for meals.
