Opera people, you get not two this year, as in the past, but three special performances. The season opens with a dramatic double bill of Mascagni’s “Cavalleria rusticana” and Leoncavallo’s “I Pagliacci” Nov. 4 and Nov. 9-10. OperaDelaware and The Grand present the New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players in the comedic “H.M.S. Pinafore” Feb. 23-24. The season concludes May 5 and May 10-11 with Verdi’s thrilling “Macbeth” for Delaware’s Year of the Bard. (Wilmington, 652-5577, operade.org)
