A Distinctive Voice
Break open the bubbly. Delaware Symphony Orchestra’s Champagne Chamber Series opens a smashing season at the Hotel du Pont November 16. During the show, maestro David Amado will present the 2010 A.I. du Pont Award to composer George Crumb, and the orchestra will perform Crumb’s “The Ghosts of the Alhambra,” which features baritone Patrick Mason. Crumb’s music, Amado says, “Stretches our perceptions, broadens our spirit and challenges our expectations.” For more, visit www.delawaresymphony.org, or call 652-5577.
