The whole square mile of Rehoboth Beach is a seaside resort with a vital, downtown area and a strong year-round population, though the population triples with beachgoers in summer. Downtown Rehoboth offers about 200 boutique shops, galleries and spas, and 40 hotels and inns. It is a culinary destination for diners from far and wide who visit for some of the finest restaurants on the East Coast. As progress marches forward, the Rehoboth Beach Main Street organization encourages the preservation of historic buildings and Rehoboth’s traditional cottage-style architecture. Outside the corporate limits, the Rehoboth area offers a growing number of beautiful communities of single-family homes, some on the Rehoboth-Lewes Canal, others off Del. 1 and some on Rehoboth Bay, such as Rehoboth Beach Country Club. “Rehoboth” encompasses communities As far north as Midway. The town coordinates a lively roster of events, including the annual Sea Witch Festival and parade for Halloween, an annual jazz festival with top-notch entertainment and stellar film festival every fall, and celebrations for the winter holidays.
