Claymont is a small, mostly working-class town that boasts prestigious Archmere Academy, a coeducational college prep school. The Claymont Renaissance Development Corporation is working to preserve Claymont’s tight-knit community and small-town feel while redeveloping a large areea into a new live-work-play community. On the Delaware River along U.S. 13, it offers easy access to points north and south on I95. Beautiful Bellevue State Park, a former du Pont family estate, offers outdoor recreation, including tennis and horseback riding.
