Pike Creek
Pike Creek shares phone exchanges with Newark and Hockessin, and it splits zip codes between Newark and Wilmington. But don’t call it no man’s land. It’s anything but. Listed on Money Magazine’s Best Places to Live list, 2007, partly because of reasonable prices on spacious homes, as well as the course at Pike Creek Golf Club, Pike Creek was the state’s first planned community. It offers several townhouse and active-lifestyle communities such as North Point and Pepper Ridge, which makes it a good fit for retirement living, as well as subdivisions of single-family homes such as Linden Green, Grantchester and Limestone Hills. Several townhouse communities are located near shopping and dining, so the area is also popular with first-time homebuyers. Goldey Beacom College is part of the neighborhood. So is White Clay Creek State Park, which is popular with hikers and mountain bikers.
