What do you do if you own a store devoted to enjoyment of boutique wines and craft brews? If you’re Venu Gaddamidi, you open a bar in that store so those wines and beers can be enjoyed as quickly as possible. Gaddamidi is owner of Veritas Wine and Craft Beer on the Riverfront in Wilmington. Having built a loyal clientele of adventurous oenophiles, he opened the Craft@Veritas bar in January. Visitors won’t find shot glasses or mixers. They will find select small-batch spirits that can be sampled in their unadulterated state, as well as the 150 wines and 300 beers offered in the store. They’ll also find a bit of low-key late-night nightlife in an area that needs it. “It’s just a really cool atmosphere for people who love a great product,” Gaddamidi says. (543-6071, sipveritas.com)
