Shopping at Great Stuff can yield treasures while fighting breast cancer.
Giving and getting are two very different things, but they go hand in hand at the new Great Stuff Resale Shop on Silverside Road in Wilmington. “It’s a win-win situation,” says general manager . “People can come here knowing that they are getting something great and at a great price while also giving back to their community.” All proceeds of Great Stuff sales support the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition. “The money raised stays in Delaware to help fight breast cancer, so customers know where their money is going,” Maahs says.
Since opening in October, Great Stuff has proven a great success. On Tuesdays and Thursdays between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. (or by appointment) you can donate clothing, furniture, framed art or home decor items to the store. You can shop while you’re at it—much of the great stuff is, naturally, great. “We really feel that everyone that comes in can find something they like,” Maahs says. “You can get a scarf for $10 or a wonderful Blue Fox jacket for $500. We are an upscale resale shop, so the merchandise is really wonderful.” —Rebecca Kasman
