Photograph by Jared CastaldiAll the glitz of New York could not hold model and actor Bryce Lingo. Back in the days when long hair, flaired jeans and oversized shirts were hot, he took a bite of the Big Apple, then came home.

Being voted best dressed in high school was just the beginning. Lingo has since parlayed his city sensibility into a classic style with a touch of spice.

And though he owns several properties around the country, he always finds his way home. He has played a significant role in the positive growth of Rehoboth Beach, Lewes, Millsboro and other parts of Sussex. He is also involved in Meals on Wheels, Rehoboth Historical Society and Faithful Friends.

Sophisticated and suave in a green plaid wool jacket or casually elegant in alligator loafers—no socks—Lingo cites classic and colorful interior designer Miles Redd of New York City as a fashion icon. He lists Wilmington Country Store and Rock Creek in Rehoboth as some of his favorite shopping grounds—with the Tanger Outlets, of course. When Lingo pairs his Brooks Brothers tweed coat with a cashmere scarf, he shows he knows how to mix it up. And he is not afraid to express his creativity.

“Recently I spotted some whimsical silk tapestry, so I had my tailor make me up a coat in it.”

Favorite pastime: “I love to go foxhunting, but I have another look for that.”
