Top Dentists in Delaware: Whom Do You Trust?

Beware what endodontist Robert C. Director calls “Dr. Google.” When looking for trustworthy information about dentistry and dental health, there’s a lot of bad information on the Internet. The best sources are professional, says periodontist Michele Broder. When searching, look for places like the following:

  • The National Institutes of Health

  • The Mayo Clinic

  • The American Dental Association

  • American Academy of Periodontology

  • American Association of Endodontists

  • American Association of Orthodontists

  • The American Medical Association

  • teaching hospitals

  • medical and dental schools

Also, beware the hype surrounding “the latest and greatest” procedures and products. They may eventually prove to have deleterious effects in the long run. Broder prefers “the tried and true. I’m not an early adopter of things,” she says. Neither is Director. “Techniques may eventually prove to be very good,” he says, “but you don’t necessarily want to be the first on your block to try one—unless it’s life or death.”
