Long before supermarkets woke up to the demand, Harvest Market was the go-to place for organic produce. The market, which opened in 1995, offers fruit and vegetables from up to 50 local providers, including an Amish farm in Kirkwood, Pa., that is certified organic. Bananas and broccoli top the bestselling list, but apples have come on strong, mostly due to the different varieties available.
CSA: The market is a drop-off site for the Lancaster Farm Fresh CSA, which goes all summer. There’s also a fall program.
