You Need to Try the Molotes at Agave Mexican Cuisine

Visit the Chadds Ford restaurant to indulge in this fried-to-perfection dish.

Move over, tacos. Molotes are here. Agave Mexican Cuisine offers many of the Mexican dishes one would expect—enchiladas, burritos and guacamole. But there is one dish that’s not like the rest—molotes de tinga. These empanada-shaped crescents filled with tinga de pollo—shredded chicken stewed in tomato and chipotle sauce—will surely please any cravings for Mexican food. Each molote is lightly battered, fried to golden perfection, then topped with crema, queso fresco, lettuce and salsa verde. With three to an order, it’s hard not to love this dish.

In addition to the molotes de tinga, make sure to bring your own liquor to accompany Agave’s housemade bloody Mary and margarita mixes. Flavors include the classic, blood orange and agua de jamaica (hibiscus tea). Follow with a generous portion of housemade guacamole served in a stone molcajete (half orders available).
