The people, places, services and restaurants that have received an esteemed Best of Delaware award use this night to showcase why they are worthy of their title. Guests are excited to get out, see old friends, make new ones, dance, drink and sample the vast array of delicious food and enjoyable products offered by our winners.

ENTERTAINMENT

What’s a party without entertainment? This Best of Delaware Party features a number of great musical attractions, a silent auction and much more.

Jam with Jellyroll, the region’s premier dance band and a Best of Delaware Party favorite. Fronted by dynamic vocalists, driven by a powerful horn section and propelled by the area’s tightest rhythm section, Jellyroll has won over audiences from Madison Square Garden to the White House.

Also, stroll down memory lane to a more mellow time with Steve Silicato, a dynamic entertainer who sings classics from Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Bobby Darin, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, The Temptations and many more.

BENEFICIARIES

Mary Fox (left) and Stephanie Johnnie of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Delaware.//Photo by Ben Fournier

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Delaware has been serving Delaware children and youth since 1964. Our mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported mentoring relationships that help them achieve success in life. We have a proven record of success, providing mentoring relationships that benefit everyone involved—the child, the family, the volunteer and the community. Research shows that young people matched with a Big Brother or Big Sister are less likely to engage in risky behaviors, and more likely to have higher aspirations and to achieve educational success. Over 100 children statewide are currently waiting for a Big Brother or Big Sister volunteer.

To find out how you can become a mentor to a young person in need, please visit www.bbbsde.org.
