The Buckley’s Burger at Buckley’s Tavern is such a favorite, the new owners left it as is it always was. Plenty of beef is grilled, then topped with good cheddar, applewood-smoked bacon, lettuce and tomato on brioche. In fact, it’s the only way the sandwich is offered (though you can have yours tweaked, of course). It’s on the all-day menu, and the late-night menu, too. 812 Kennett Pike, Wilmington, 656-9776, buckleystavern.com

At Kid Shelleen’s Charcoal House and Saloon, they weigh in at a whopping 10 ounces, so we hope you’re hungry. Order any of several styles. We go for the Saloon, topped with fresh local mushrooms, blue cheese and tomato. Or create your own. Toppings range from caramelized onions to pico di gallo to a variety of cheeses. On Tuesdays, enjoy them at half price. 1801 W. 14th St., Wilmington, 658-4600, harrys-savoy.com/kidshelleens.asp
