Stop right there. Did you say, “Did You Say Bacon? Sundae”? Only the great minds at Chelsea Tavern would think of it. Top a homemade bacon-butterscotch blondie with bacon ice cream and a bourbon-caramel sauce. There’s always a potent creme brûlée of the day, and the chocolate chip bread pudding almost ranks with the Did You Say Bacon? Sundae. A plea: Please bring back the salt-crusted, caramel-covered shortbread cookies and homemade beignets with peanut butter dipping sauce. Did you say “to die for?” 821 N. It’s the chocolate ganache atop the tiramisu that won The Buttery a first place at the competitive Rehoboth Beach Chocolate Festival. But it’s the Spring Berry Cake that won our heart. Fresh strawberries, raspberries and blueberries alternate with layers of spongy, citrus-tinged cake. Add more citrus in the cherry-lime sauce and berry whipped cream on top. Delightful. Need something a bit richer? Maybe the Butterscotch Shortbread Napolean will do the trick. 102 Second St., Lewes, 645-7755, butteryrestaurant.com
