Recent research predicts inevitable shortages in Delaware’s skilled-trades workforce, leading to a future where construction companies won’t have the skilled crews necessary to complete large-scale projects similar to Polytech’s recent renovation (above). This looming shortage has inspired an innovative partnership between Corrado Construction Company and Polytech Adult Education. Corrado and Polytech have developed a Civil/Site Skilled Field Program that provides on-the-job training and classroom instruction for students interested in a successful field career in construction. Career options range from laborer/operator to site supervision to construction management. Corrado Construction and Polytech are committed to cultivating a skilled-trades workforce for the future of Delaware construction.
