Padua Academy

A private Roman Catholic college preparatory high school educating young women in the tradition of St. Francis de Sales & St. Francis of Assisi (paduaacademy.org)

Padua’s motto, suaviter sed fortiter (softly, but strongly) sets the tone for an academic experience focused on educating young women to be “nurturing and responsive to the uniqueness of others, yet purposeful and determined, accepting a responsible role in the global community,” according to the school’s Web site.

With a curriculum infused with discipline and spirituality, the socio-economically diverse student body has been among Cardinal Newman Society’s Top 50 Catholic High Schools and is consistently recognized for outstanding community service, earning a National Bronze Medal from the Jefferson Awards-Deloitte Students in Action program.

Did you know: The building at 10th and Broom streets was built by volunteer labor.
