Ready, set, faux. In the ultimate hands-on classroom, the Decorative Painting Apprenticeship Program assembles top teachers and artisans from the Americas and Europe who work closely with students to design and beautify a public space using such painting techniques as glazing, marbling, Venetian plaster and wood graining.

Students train on sample boards, perfecting techniques they can use at home. After they develop a skilled hand, they work with instructors on walls, ceilings and columns. Projects have included St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Chadds Ford and New Orleans City Park. Students pay a small fee.
