Local Companies That Offer Great Benefits for Working Parents

These employers do more than just promise work-life balance.

 

For employees with children, parental benefits are often the most crucial. So if businesses want to attract and retain highly skilled workers, they’d better offer some pretty solid perks.

Luckily for Delawareans, many local companies do. In fact, the state itself provides 12 weeks of paid parental leave to full-time government and school district employees. Employees must have a year of service to be eligible for this benefit.

Kent General Hospital, part of Dover-based Bayhealth, offers onsite childcare. Bayhealth also offers a tax-free dependent care program.

DuPont subsidizes backup childcare and offers college coaching and family guidance resources, while Bank of America gives childcare reimbursement and 16 weeks of paid parental leave.

The University of Delaware alleviates a great deal of college-based financial burdens by granting children of full-time employees tuition waivers for UD and more than 600 participating colleges.
