New Castle’s Dog House Offers Anything but Common Hot Dogs

Leave the grocery store links and rolls for the cookouts and belly up to the counter for some unconventional bliss.

The Dog House
You sit at the counter because the counter is the only place to sit. Before you is an assembly line of cooks filling orders by the dozens. To your left is a truck driver who always yanks his rig off 95 to indulge in a footlong that’s split down the middle, grilled, then served on a bun that’s more like a steak roll than the puffy, bland bread you buy for your cookouts. On your right is a New Castle local who knows that The Dog House is one of the best places to get a cheesesteak or sub. Generations have eaten here regularly because, even when hot dog joints were more common, none was more uncommon than this one. 1200 N. Dupont Hwy., New Castle, 328-5380
