The DuPont Environmental Education Center is a four-story, 13,500-square-foot building that sits at the edge of the 212-acre Russell W. Peterson Urban Wildlife Refuge. It features a pedestrian flyover bridge, 1200 linear feet of boardwalk encircling a marsh pond, observation decks, a marsh laboratory, a botanical garden, and a large meeting space with views of the marsh, river and city. The Delaware Nature Society (DNS) manages and operates the education programs at the DuPont Environmental Education Center, while the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control manages the Russell W. Peterson Urban Wildlife Refuge. In addition to educational programs, the DuPont Environmental Education Center is available for meetings and special events. Come discover what we've uncovered, where the city, river and marsh come together!
