Lang's hands-on owners care about the quality of the carpets and rugs they sell and clean. Designers bring clients the space to select unusual carpets, while the public enjoys its 4,000-square-foot showroom that boasts hundreds of Oriental area rugs and decorator-inspired wools.
Carpet cleaning and repair.
Lang handles Persian, antique, hand-knotted, needlepoint, hook and hand-tufted carpets. Lang is a member of The National Institute of Rug Cleaning. (Techs carry credentials from the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration.) The typical cleaning involves a rug inspection, then a washing with special equipment. Dusting entails removing soil with a rug duster and vacuum. Washing—both sides—is done with a combination of equipment and wool-safe detergents. Rugs are dried in special rooms using a combination of heat and low humidity. Pros restore hand-knotted rugs by hand. Lang offers pick up and delivery, in-house carpet and upholstery cleaning, and uses state-of-the-art, truck-mounted equipment.
