Beebe Healthcare is a not-for-profit community hospital with 210 licensed beds. Specialized service lines include cardiac and vascular, oncology, orthopaedics, women’s health and chronic disease management.
Beebe Healthcare operates Lab Express, diagnostic imaging and rehab services throughout Sussex County. Outpatient services are offered in Lewes, Milton, Millville, Millsboro, Georgetown, Long Neck and Rehoboth Beach; services vary by location. Beebe Healthcare services also include: diabetes management, a sleep disorders center, the Gull House adult activities center, home care services, an integrative health department, high school-based wellness centers, and the only hospital-based nursing school in the state, the Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing.
Beebe’s medical staff consists of more than 200 physicians and practitioners from 40 specialties. In 2007, Beebe started its open-heart surgery program in affiliation with Christiana Care Health System. It also has an interventional cardiology program and a round-the-clock hospitalist program.
Beebe’s Emergency Department in Lewes is a Level III Trauma Center. Non-emergency care is available daily from 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Beebe’s Walk-In Care centers in Millsboro and Georgetown. From Memorial Day weekend to September 15, Walk-In Care is also available on Route 26 in Millville.
Beebe participates in many community events each year, including the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, the March of Dimes walk and the American Heart Association Heart Walk and Heart Ball. The Population Health department provides cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, osteoporosis and other free screenings throughout the area. Support programs include an Alzheimer’s and caregivers support group, diabetes education and support groups, a Parkinson’s disease support group, the Mended Heart program for cardiac patients, and the Better Breathers’ Club for those with pulmonary disease.
