The menu at Rasa Sayang Malaysian Cuisine describes its pad Thai as “a thin flat noodle dish made with shrimp, tofu, bean sprouts and topped with crushed peanut.” The description hardly does the dish justice. Then again, how could it? The shrimp and fried squares of tofu receive a pleasant bite from chili sauce, the peanuts are added in just the right amount, and there’s no oily residue. The Malaysian version, mee Siam, is made with thin, rather than flat, noodles and is equally tasty.
