The formula for a great sports bar hasn’t changed much through the years: HD-TVs show all the big games, sports memorabilia covers the walls, and servers and bartenders bring munchies, pizzas and pitchers. The Grotto Pizza on Concord Pike (formerly Bennigan’s) does all that very well, of course. Then there are the drink specials. Happy hour actually lasts for four hours (3 p.m. to 7 p.m.) during the week and features 22-ounce Bud and Bud Light for $2.50, 16-ounce Coors Light & Miller Lite for two bucks, and 75 cents off mixed drinks and wine. Thursday nights are $5 Absolut Martini Night. Add a scoop of gelato for $1. Let the games begin.

Grotto Pizza is bright and cheerful, with sports on TV for the adults and, in some
locations, arcade games for the kids. From pizza to spaghetti to chicken fingers, the menu
satisfies all.
