Best Healthy Fare, 2014:
We enjoy the brightly colored walls, album covers and the 1950s-ish tables and chairs of Fresh Thymes. We love healthy lunches and breakfasts made from fresh, local, often organic ingredients. Vegans, this is your place.
We’re not the only ones who love Fresh Thymes. When short-handed owner Jenn Adams announced last winter that she was going to shutter up, regulars volunteered to keep this neighborhood favorite open. Thank heavens. Few places take the local, natural, farm-to-table approach as seriously. Fresh Thymes offers delicious homemade soups. Weekends bring hearty buckwheat pancakes. And no one else has thought to offer guacamole and sauerkraut in the same omelet. (It sounds weird, but it tastes divine.)
We haven’t seen quinoa on many menus. At Fresh Thymes, the miracle grain is made
into a delicious breakfast dish. Food, from sausages and eggs to produce, is sourced
locally, organic when possible, and always fresh.
