At Eclipse, an intimate room breeds uncommon service. The staff knows the menu and wine list well. They can see everything that’s happening without having to hover. And it takes only a few steps to deliver from the kitchen to your table, so your food is served at its peak.
Eclipse Bistro, never take the pappardelle with short rib Bolognese off the menu, or the fried calamari. The sliced olives are a brilliant touch.
Carl Georigi’s cozy-chic Eclipse is a bistro in the Parisian sense of the word. The cuisine is often simple, with hearty dishes such its famous braised short ribs with maple demiglace and andouille-spiked seafood stew with shrimp fumet. Service is exceptional, and the fun atmosphere has created an army of regulars who have been known to dine at Eclipse, well, on a regular basis.
There’s nothing more comforting on a bone-chilling day than Eclipse Bistro’s seafood stew. The bread pudding that accompanies the blend of clams, shrimp, crabs and spicy tomato broth is a nice touch, but the stew is the hungry man’s best defense against winter.
