Janis, a native of Southern Virginia, is the queen of graciousness and hospitality. “Southern means we try and actually get to know each guest by name,” she says. Mom and Dad will need only open a window to rejuvenate and refresh. They can enjoy a free yoga class every morning and indulge in a wonderful breakfast on the porch. Janis serves grits, fried apples, even lox and bagels. There’s always a fresh fruit parfait waiting, and Janis does a sumptuous evening dessert, too. Hope for a slice of her homemade apple pie.
