Description:

Founded by Henry Francis du Pont, Winterthur is the premier museum of American decorative arts, reflecting both early America and the du Pont family's life at this glorious estate. Enjoy tours of the 175-room house filled with fabulous antiques, stroll Winterthur's world-renowned 60-acre garden (or take a narrated tram tour, weather permitting), and savor special exhibitions in the Winterthur Galleries -- including this year's blockbuster exhibition 'Costumes of Downton Abbey.' Enjoy dazzling treasures from the Campbell Collection of Soup Tureens, discover Winterthur's award-winning Enchanted Woods for families, and take advantage of museum store, shopping and dining. Spectacular events such as the Point-to-Point steeplechase race, the Delaware Antiques Show, and the annual Yuletide tour of the du Pont house bedecked in holiday finery draw thousands of visitors annually.
