Also plan ahead for hair styling. At Made Ya Look! in Rehoboth Beach, stylists and brides collaborate in a pre-wedding session. The final look is photographed for reference when the big day arrives.

“We talk about every detail,” says Ximena Leon, bridal specialist. “Will she wear a veil? Will she take off the veil during the reception?”

Tight chignons and severe updos have relaxed into downswept casual curls and tender tendrils. Accenting hair with a flower from the bride’s bouquet keeps the spring vibe going. “The flower might be something large, perhaps a single lily, or a number of smaller flowers, maybe little gardenias,” Leon says.

To keep blooms looking their best, work them into the hair no sooner than 20 minutes before the service begins, advises Barb Williams, owner of Belak Flowers in Wilmington. Williams favors orchids.
