Shana D. Ross of Dover has set high goals in her new position of vice president of human resources at Bayhealth Medical Center. Having reached her main professional goal of becoming a VP before age 40, she wants to change the perception of what human resources is. “2014 will change the way hospital systems operate,” she says. “There are many HR leaders who are still very narrow-minded and too timid to focus on strategic business matters. My goal is to provide my current HR team the tools and practices to run the business better rather than to just run HR more efficiently. This will mean stepping out of our comfort zone and fostering an environment that motivates great people to do great work.”
