Betsy Reamer: Delaware Women in Business
In fall 2005, when the town of Lewes undertook a major renovation of Second Street in the historic district, its commercial heart, Betsy Reamer worked with the town administration and engineers to makes sure businesses could stay open and thrive through the nine-month project. And they did. As executive director of the Lewes Chamber of Commerce, Reamer wears many hats, from managing volunteers to developing marketing campaigns. “One of the great things about Lewes with its centuries of history is that there is always a milestone to recognize,” Reamer says. Next year is the bicentennial of the War of 1812’s British invasion of Lewes. Reamer is working with the local historical society and other groups on a special celebration for April.
