Delaware Today magazine Women in Business: Jennifer Bagley is a district sales coordinator at Aflac
Jennifer Bagley gained new perspective on leadership when she became a parent. “If you’ve ever tried convincing a 2-year-old that those shoes really don’t match—with one step out the door and about to be late—you know what I’m talking about,” she says. “For the good of the whole—and to accomplish the overall mission of getting out the door on time—you let her express her creative fashion sensibility.” That means leadership is partly about recognizing each person’s abilities and how they fit into progress toward a common goal. Which is exactly what she contributes to Aflac, where, as district sales coordinator, she recommends ways for the company to fill gaps in its benefit coverage. That perspective on leadership will prove handy as she builds a team of people who want to be a part of Aflac’s growth, and it is a key to her success as president of Wilmington Women in Business. She also sits on the board of Junior Achievement and the Delaware chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management.
