Description

Christopher Burgher is an information technology and security and privacy professional with more than 25 years of experience in the IT industry, and has worked in Information Security and IT Risk Management for the past 15 years. He is currently part of the Operational Resilience group focused on Risk & Resilience with Sungard.

He has worked with corporations on information security related projects in the areas of products, services, and vendor management. He has conducted risk assessments, information security policy reviews and development, financial systems risk management and cash flow system implementation, as well as a variety of point solutions including firewalls, security assessment tools, intrusion detection and protection systems, and infrastructure management systems.

Christopher has also assisted clients with business continuity and disaster recovery planning, performed assessments, gap analysis, and developed  strategies and solutions for implementation. He has selected disaster recovery solution vendors and developed testing strategies. He has also worked with incident response both prior to and during an incident, and assisted in forensic analysis.

Additionally, Christopher has developed Information Security practices for several companies and has served as Project Manager for numerous engagements, in staffing, scheduling, deliverables and budget responsibilities. He has developed policies and procedures using ISO 17799 and SANS guidelines, managed communication with Line Of Business, and other Risk Management executives. Christopher has also co-developed a web-based security awareness program, and participated in program delivery. He has also assisted in developing and deploying a security alert managed service.

Christopher has worked with internal and external auditors to address findings and assure compliance in the areas of Sarbanes-Oxley, GLBA, Patriot Act and HIPAA regulations as well as Federal Cyber Crime, Homeland Security and Critical Infrastructure Protection.
