The Delaware Division of Public Health (DPH), Bayhealth, and the Delaware Medical Reserve Corps will host a free drive-thru flu vaccination clinic for ages 9 and older at the DelDOT Administration Building, 800 South Bay Road in Dover, on Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. or until vaccines run out. The event is rain or shine.
Pedestrians are also welcome, and accommodations will be available for those with access and functional needs. Interpreters in American Sign Language, Spanish, French, and Haitian Creole will be on site.
Eagle 97.7 will hold a live broadcast from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
Cool 101.3 will hold a live broadcast from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Flu vaccination reduces the risk of getting sick from the flu or spreading the disease to others. DPH urges all Delawareans 6 months of age and older who have not yet been vaccinated against the flu to get a vaccination as soon as possible. The flu is easy to transmit and the vaccine is the best protection.
For more information on influenza prevention, diagnosis and treatment, as well as for a listing of DPH flu clinics, visit flu.delaware.gov or call DPH at 1-800-282-8672. Flu vaccinations are also available through physicians, pharmacies, and many grocery stores.
