This is about a guy named Robert Joseph Leone that I went to high school with. Some of you may know him as Rob Anderson.
Yes, he changed his name, why… it’s complicated and not important. If you remember him from Glasgow High School you might remember he was the boy dancing on top of the school bus in the movie Dead Poets Society.
If you know him now you know he is a dedicated father who served in The Air Force and Desert Storm. And if you ever met him, you know that he loves his sister Angie.
He loves her so much; he is donating his kidney to her. When Angie was 16 she was diagnosed with an incurable kidney disease called focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). Glomerulosclerosis is a chronic disease that cannot be repaired. Treatment can slow the progression of the kidney disease but once they reach kidney failure they will need a kidney transplant to stay alive.
Despite Angie’s disease she has been able to lead a relatively normal life including serving in the Navy. She was eventually medically discharged due to her kidney disease. She is now, 30 years old and has a 4 year old daughter. Rob also has a daughter, she is 11.
The transplant was scheduled for February 18th 2014. A Beef n Beer /Silent Auction is being held to help cover some of the medical expenses and some of the day to day expenses for both Rob and Angie. Both are single parents and neither of their employers offer(s) short or long term disability.
Other events being organized to raise funds; JB McGuinnes Pub & Grille in New Castle is holding one of the events, updates and other information can be found on Facebook under:

Asking for donations in this economy is tough on everyone. The Leone Family is thankful for anything you can give, including volunteering and prayers. If this was your family, is there anything you wouldn’t do, or ask for, to help them?
Please donate or attend one of the fundraisers, if you can.
