The Rehoboth Beach Film Society and the Cape Henlopen Educational Foundation are proud to present the Metropolitan Opera’s Live in HD broadcast of Rossini’s charming opera “La Cenerentola” on Saturday, May 10 at 12:55 pm at the Cape Henlopen High School’s theater, Lewes, DE. This lovely production is the final opera in the 2013-14 season for The Metropolitan Opera: Live in HD series.
A peerless pair of Rossini virtuosos joins forces in La Cenerentola—a vocal tour de force for mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato, singing her first Met performances of the Cinderella title role, and the high-flying tenor Juan Diego Flórez, as her Prince Charming. Alessandro Corbelli and Luca Pisaroni complete the cast, with Met Principal Conductor Fabio Luisi leading the effervescent score. [2014, Italian, Runtime: 3 hrs 45 min, Italian with English subtitles]
In addition to the opera performance, the HD series features Met opera stars conducting live interviews with cast and/or various production crew members while showing behind-the-scene workings.
