The Mental Health Association in Delaware, a statewide, nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting improved mental well-being for residents of Delaware, will host its 2nd mindfulness training on September 11, 2019 from 5:30-6:30 at the Newark Senior Center (200 White Chapel Drive, Newark, DE). This program will led by Kate McHugh, mindfulness coach, fitness instructor and licensed mental health and substance abuse counselor. Several local vendors will be exhibiting and there will be raffle prizes as well.
Mindfulness teaches us to be more present in current situations, building awareness so that we can interrupt our habitual reaction and create a change for something fresh and more positive in our response. This in turn, lowers stress and anxiety.
You can register for this event at www.mhainde.org and view other events there as well. The cost for adults is $15, free for children 12 and under and $10 for seniors 62+.
All event proceeds go towards the MHA’s community programs and lifesaving services such as suicide intervention training, peer support for those living with mental health disorders, and stigma reduction to help people access mental health care when they need it. The Mental Health Association in Delaware’s mission is to promote mental well- being for all individuals and their families through support, education, and advocacy.
