J. Clayton Bright’s solo exhibition entitled Paintings and Sculpture opens October 12th and continues through November 10th, 2012. An opening reception for the artist will be held on Friday, October 12th from 5:30-7:30 p.m. J. Clayton Bright is best known for his life-size bronze cow that is installed on the river’s edge as a part of the permanent collection of The Brandywine River Museum in Chadds Ford, PA. Bright has achieved outstanding success as an artist for almost 30 years, with his recent body of work including bronze sculpture and paintings. It is unusual for a sculptor to become a painter and work in both mediums concurrently. This exhibition will be the first combined show of his new paintings and bronzes at Somerville Manning Gallery. Included are his people and animal sculptures ranging from 3 ½ inches to life size and his new paintings, which vary from still-lifes to street scenes and landscapes. Bright's unique talents have resulted in the placement of his work in numerous private, museum, and corporate collections in the United States, Europe, South America, and Japan. |
