Newark, DE—The University of Delaware will welcome Dr. Mabel O. Wilson on Monday March 11, 2019. Dr. Wilson is a Professor of Architecture at Columbia University where she is the co-director of Global Africa Lab and Associate Director of the Institute for Research in African American Studies. The presentation titled, Notes on a Virginia Statehouse: Architecture and Race in Jefferson’s America fits into Dr. Wilson’s larger project in which she discusses how slavery influenced early American civic architecture. Please join us at Dr. Wilson’s talk in Memorial Hall, Room 127 on UD’s Main Campus at 5:30 PM. This talk is part of the Paul R. Jones Initiative 2019 Lecture Series, and is hosted by the College of Arts & Sciences in partnership with the Interdisciplinary Humanities Research Center and the Department of Art History. Dr. Wilson’s lecture is free and open to the public.
