2010 marks the 11th anniversary of this fine arts show at the Hagley Soda House. This year’s “Honored Artist," Terry Newitt, is an admired local artist, teacher and founding member of DFVA. Terry works in an expressive, colorful manner with dynamic compositions and layered textural effects. His splashy watercolors and acrylics have graced the Delaware Valley for many years. DFVA is proud to exhibit and sell Terry Newitt’s original works as we continue to fund our Scholarship Endowment for Delaware students.
An impressive group of over 50 well-known artists from the Brandywine Valley area will also exhibit and sell original new works created for the event. Included in this group are: Charles Allmond, Larry Anderson, Roy Blankenship, Shawn Faust, Thomas Frey, James Huntsberger, Marilyn Minster, James McGlynn, Barbara Neville, Kathy Ruck, Irma Reinhold, and Joyce Ziegler. This is an exceptional collection of original art, including paintings, sculpture, porcelain and jewelry.
This year’s show will present an opportunity to win original miniature works of art painted by some of our participating artists.
A portion of the proceeds benefits DFVA’s Scholarship Endowment with the Delaware Community Foundation and further secures the organization’s Scholarship Awards, Excellence in Drawing Competition, and “Kaleidoscope” the annual workshop for Delaware High School students.
