Take an adventure across the vast and diverse continent of Africa at The Music School of Delaware Friday, May 2, 2014. The event will begin at 7 p.m. with a workshop, followed by the concert at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10; $5 for students and seniors. Available by calling 302.762.1132.
Attend a pre-concert workshop on traditional African dance and visual art, presented by Sankofa Dance Theater and visual artist B. Ben Pearce. Then reach into the rich legacy of African traditions through movement, music and magical folkways with a performance by Sankofa. Michelle’s of Delaware will display an exhibition of visual art by Africans and African descendants.
Enter a raffle drawing to win an authentic Kenyan table drum, valued at $150. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit Financial Aid Scholarships. Tickets are $4 a piece or 3 for $10.
The event is part of the Music School’s Cultural Crossroads Concert Series, which celebrates the rich musical diversity of our world and our very own community through events that integrate a variety of art forms.
