New Exhibit at Peninsula Gallery to raise funds for CAMP Rehoboth opens June 3
“Art for the Community” is a collaborative exhibition between Peninsula Gallery in Lewes and CAMP Rehoboth on Baltimore Ave. in Rehoboth. The Peninsula Gallery will show the work of several artists normally associated with CAMP. Both the gallery and the artists will donate a portion of sales to support a new initiative by Camp--Project CAMPfire – Fostering, Inspiring and Rewarding Emerging Arts and Artists, in particular providing creative art experiences for the 55 plus community.
An eclectic mix of work will be on display. The whimsical PEZ pieces of Terry Isner will hang alongside the mixed media abstract work of Sondra Arkin. The landscapes of Vincent Hughes and Caroline Huff will juxtaposition with work from the estate of recently deceased Washington artist Brian Petro. Also on show will be the abstract expressionism of Sam Dixon, the darkly humorous figurative work of Scott Brooks and many others.
The opening reception for this exhibit will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, June 3 and the show will continue through June 25. The Peninsula Gallery is located on the first floor of the Beacon Motel at 520 E. Savannah Rd in Lewes. Images from the show may be viewed at peninsula-gallery.com.
