Once again, music lovers will get the opportunity to spend a long summer day listening to great music and indulging in gourmet food truck fare while craft beer along Delaware River at the historic Fort DuPont site in Delaware City.
This year’s Delaware City’s Fortify Music Fest, presented by the Fort DuPont Redevelopment and Preservation Corp., moves the event from its 2018 September date to Aug. 10, and will feature headliners Funky Feat, which includes original members of influential rock band Little Feat, which formed in 1969.
Other bands in the main stage bill include Steely Dan tribute band Count Down to Ecstasy; Southern rock cover band High Noon; Delaware favorites LoveBettie, performing their last show under that moniker before transitioning to performing full time as country-tinged Willow Hill; and The Susquehanna Floods, performing classic rock and Southern rock covers as well as their own original material. In addition, regionally-based bands The Quixote Project and Lights of the North will perform on the community stage at the Fortify Beer Garden, as will Willow Hill.
Speaking of beer, the craft beer selection will include offerings from Blue Earl Brewing in Smyrna, Big Oyster Brewery in Lewes and Philadelphia’s Yards Brewing Co. More than a dozen food trucks will provide the eats.
The event takes place on the 18-acre parade grounds of Fort DuPont, a former U.S. Army base being reimagined as a mixed use residential and commercial district across the Delaware City Branch Channel from downtown Delaware City.
Tickets for the festival are $35 for ages 13 and up. Children under 12 are free. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit fortdupont.org/fortifyfest.
