A Jazzy Christmas Concert for a Cause

The Wilson Somers trio will perform at the Laird Performing Arts Center on Sunday, Dec. 4.

Emmy Award-winning jazz composer and pianist Wilson Somers will lead his jazz trio and guests in celebration of a “Jazz Christmas” on Sunday, Dec. 4, at The Tatnall School’s Laird Performing Arts Center. This festive and uplifting seasonal event is presented by Mass for the Homeless, Inc. as part of its Music with a Mission series with net proceeds to benefit Family Promise of Northern New Castle County, a nonprofit that prevents and ends homelessness for families by engaging faith-based congregations, volunteers and donors.

The program will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will feature traditional and contemporary treatments of holiday favorites by the Wilson Somers trio, featuring Somers on piano, Pete Paulson on contrabass and Glenn Ferricone on percussion. They will joined by guests Ed Kirkpatrick (tenor saxophone) and Wes Morton (vibes). The evening will include performances from The Tatnall Singers, along with a special featured appearance by Ms. Annie Fitch, who formerly appeared as Mrs. Claus in the annual Radio City Music Hall Holiday show in New York.
