An Inside Look at Wyeth

A must-attend event for artists, art historians, and members of the community

The Chadds Ford Historical Society will present “I Paint My Life,” a special lecture by Wyeth’s granddaughter and renowned art curator, Victoria Browning Wyeth, on November 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the Westtown School. Ms. Wyeth will give an intimate look into Andrew Wyeth’s paintings of Chadds Ford and the local inspirations that shaped his artwork. Highlighting several pieces he created throughout his career, Wyeth will pay special attention to the artistic technique, the models and the context surrounding his paintings. She will also share family photos and personal memories of her time spent with her grandfather. She will unveil four slides of never-before-seen paintings by Andrew Wyeth and share a DVD interview—his last—from August 2008. The four images will appear during the lecture. From 6 p.m. till 7:30 p.m., an exclusive preview party before the lecture will give fans and attendees the opportunity to meet Victoria Browning Wyeth and to partake in a reception filled with local autumn favorites. The lecture will be a must-attend event for artists, art historians, and members of the community this year. Be a witness to art history with the unveiling of Andrew Wyeth’s work to the public, in the place he called home. Tickets for the preview party (plus lecture) will be $50 a person. Tickets for the lecture only will be $30. There will also be a special discount offer: For every 50 tickets purchased, you will get five tickets free.
