Delaware Shakespeare to Present "Henry V" at Rockwood Park

The production runs July 14–30.

Young Henry rises to power in this ultimate underdog story, featuring some of the most famous speeches and glorious language in the canon, as Delaware Shakespeare presents “Henry V” on stage at Rockwood Park July 14–30. Tickets are on sale now.

“Henry V” is Delaware Shakespeare's 15th summer production. Bring your own chairs, blankets and picnic baskets to the park, though the concession stand will feature picnic-appropriate food from Janssen's Market, including a selection of fresh-made sandwiches, cheese plates and desserts. This year, for the first time, bottles of wine will be available for purchase at concessions.

This 15th annual Summer Festival will feature a return to the popular in-the-round setting last seen during “The Taming of the Shrew” in 2015, as well as an original percussive score by composer-sound designer Michael Hahn.

“Henry V will run for 13 performances July 14–30. Performances scheduled Wednesday to Saturday begin at 7:30 p.m., with gates opening at 6:15 p.m. for pre-show entertainment and picnics. Sunday performances begin at 6 p.m., with gates opening at 4:45 p.m. No shows are scheduled for Monday or Tuesday nights, although Tuesday, July 25, is scheduled as a make-up rain date, if needed.

General admission to the festival is $18. Tickets are $16 for seniors (ages 65+) and active military members (and their families) with identification. Student tickets are $14. Children ages 5 and under get in free for every performance. Every Sunday is Family Night, with special activities for children 12 and under, admitted free with a paid adult admission.

To purchase tickets, or for more information, go to www.delshakes.org. Tickets can also be purchased at the gate.
