Nic-O-Bubbly

Nic-O-Bubbly

Welcome to the Home Skillet, where we take our Nic-o-boli with beef, pepperoni, anchovies, jalapenos and a colonoscopy. Here’s the most happenin’ dining events for this week:

Friday, December 5: Ah, it just wouldn’t be dinner at the Green Room without foie gras crème brûlée, braised rabbit strudel and bountiful bubbly bottles of Moët.
Join our classiest restaurant at the Hotel du Pont Friday for the Green Room’s eight-course champagne dinner. Yes, the Moët will flow, as will Chandon and a host of other champagne selections. They’ll be paired with a gourmet menu, which you can read in full here.
Musician John McCullough and his keyboard will be on hand with some jams.
Tickets are $115 per person and the hotel is offering special rates for the evening. For more information and reservations, call 594-3154.

Sunday, December 7: The fine folks at Nicola Pizza in downtown Rehoboth (home of the famous Nic-O-Boli, don’tcha know) are providing grub for the Community Unity Spaghetti Dinner Sunday, complete with good ol’ fashioned spaghetti, meatballs, a salad bar, beverages and awesome desserts.
The reason for the get-together? Community unity of course. Plus, Rehoboth Main Street will hand out its Citizen of the Year Award.
The Tim Laushey Trio will sing with, um, a singing Santa at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center beginning at 4 p.m.
Tickets are $8, with seniors at $5. Kids under 12 eat free.
Call 227-2772 or visit http://downtownrehoboth.com for more.

Wednesday, December 10: Amici’s Fine Dining in Landenberg is huge on local, seasonal food and wine. So it’s no surprise their crew, including head chef Aaron Bukowski, is gearing up for the Winter Wine Dinner next Wednesday.
Chef Bukowski will prepare a special winter menu meant to compliment a full slate of wines from (local, natch) Kreutz Creek Vineyards, located in West Chester, Pa.
Join Bukowski, the winemakers and plenty of mirth-makers beginning at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Tickets are $70 per person and I’m told reservations are going fast, so call 610-255-5777, pronto.

Tune in next week for more Home Skillet.
