Daring to be Different

Daring to be Different

Thank goodness someone around here doesn’t mind going out on a fashion limb.

Even if you might think that typical teenage fashion has a tendency to have the “yawn” factor, think Uggs and Abercrombie, there is hope for our young people if we can just get them to check out what Miss Melanie Kasey has to say.

Melanie is a student at A.I. duPont High School in Greenville and in her spare time she writes a fashion blog called D2BDMelrose (translation: dare to be different).

Here she has plenty of photos of her latest outfits and where she got them. It seems she likes to pull things out of her fashionista mom’s closet, like a shocking pink St. John knit sweater and pair it with a zany pair of straight legged jeans and Converse sneakers.

LOVE IT!

You won’t be seeing any sloppy sweats or boring T-shirts on this teen fashion machine. Kasey says, “You might think diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but I say heels are a girl’s best friend.”

Three Snaps Up!

Just loving that this gal is comfortable to tap into her inner punk and not afraid to step out of the style box.
